The Jellyman’s Daughter is a Scottish duo featuring Emily Kelly (vocals, guitar, mandolin) and Graham Coe (vocals, cello). They started 2015 as they meant to go on, winning even more praise following bigger-exposure live performances, including a nomination for Best Acoustic Act in the Scottish Alternative Music Awards. After making each other’s acquaintance in the inspiring setting of Edinburgh, Emily and Graham soon found an affinity in the way their voices combined and a new sound in the way they could combine cello and acoustic guitar or mandolin, with influences ranging from bluegrass to post-rock. Graham’s cello in particular added an unique element with his rhythmic, percussive and unconventional playing.
“Startlingly original and deeply intense… Totally captivating” Folkwords
“A really original sound… really enjoying that” Ricky Ross
